Course description
This course is not available until 2010. This course explores the biology & biogeography of marine plants, algae & micro-organisms with an emphasis on their roles in marine ecosystems, & their potential role in producing alternative sources of energy & bioactive metabolites for drug development. Students will be introduced to identification techniques, the evolutionary origins, & life histories of these organisms.
