Course description
This course will not be offered from 2013 onwards. Please contact your Faculty for advice if required.
This course will take an evolutionary approach (with strong emphasis on systematics) to addressing topics such as how new species discovered, recognised and described, what factors affect global and continental patterns of biodiversity, how biodiversity has changed through time and across space, and how biodiversity is measured and interpreted. We will primarily draw on examples from Australian plants and animals, but will also refer to other organisms and regions.
