Course description

ARCA2120 is an archaeological investigation of Britiain's later prehistory (c. 14,000 - 3,000 years ago), formally the Mesolithic, Neolithic & Bronze Age. It details the key theories used to interpret the archaeological record and understand this key period of cultural change which saw the transformation of mobile hunter-gatherering societies into sedentary, socially stratified village-based communities. ARCA2120 provides a window into a distant, yet familiar world and draws on comparisons with other parts of the world to provide a global context to Britain's unique prehistory.
