NOT OFFERED IN 2011 A survey of the major achievements of Roman visual arts and architecture and the influences that helped to shape these achievements. The following topics will be treated in detail: the buildings and monuments of the city of Rome, including temples, baths, fora; sculpture; mosaics and paintings with particular reference to Pompeii and Herculaneum; Roman attitudes to the arts.
