Course description

Roman Imperial History from Augustus to the Antonine Emperors. Topics covered include court politics, emperor worship, imperial administration and society, and culture. Students will examine both literary texts (translated into English from the original Latin and Greek) and non-literary sources (translated inscriptions and coins and, where relevant, art and architecture). This course may not run if there are fewer than 20 enrolments.
