Course description
The course examines the different types of materials used in the aerospace industry. Materials include composites, metals and ceramics. The process of selection of the appropriate material for aerospace applications will be addressed. Materials properties, ease of manufacture and performance in the anticipated service environment will be introduced and discussed. Aerospace case studies will be discussed.
