Course description

This third-year course immerses students in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams to investigate real-world sustainability challenges. Through applied research methods, students identify and frame a sustainability problem within a given context, negotiating a shared, evidence-based position that incorporates diverse stakeholder perspectives. Emphasising creative communication, students will develop strategies to ensure their ideas are accessible across disciplines and to broader audiences. The course fosters critical self-reflection, encouraging students to examine their own disciplinary assumptions while engaging in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary inquiry. Students will explore sustainability as a holistic concept, considering its environmental, economic, technological, and socio-cultural dimensions. Through independent and collaborative activities, students will develop new insights into their own practices and contribute to innovative solutions for complex sustainability challenges.
